In recent years, the field of design and construction of the stairs was added by new materials such as inox, aluminum, glass and especially combinations of the above with the “classical” wood which still keeps priority particularly in home constructions. What has changed in modern design is varnishes, which in most cases are water-soluble, ecological, substituting the toxic varnishes manufactured in the past.

Key rules for choosing the stairs

Choosing a stairs for interior is determined by a number of criteria. Perhaps, the most important of all these criteria is the provision and distribution of the space, in which the stairs will be placed so that the planning study will be carried out to design a staircase right in the terms of technical specifications, which simultaneously ensure a factor of exceptional importance, functionality and comfort in use. Key selection criterion is also frequency of use of the stairs, which depends on areas which it connects (living room, loft, bedroom, office, play-room, etc.). Moreover, very important is the issue of aesthetics, which is subjective, i.e. the stairs should be in line with the aesthetics of the remaining area. Finally, a parameter, which influences the final selection, is the manufacturing cost.

Circular or straight?

This dilemma is easily solved by the available space and layout. If the space is small then the choice fells to the functioning of the stairs and the other spaces. If there is no limitation of space then it becomes a matter of aesthetics and functionality.
